LOL….How old are we?
I am a lover of the new text messaging and instant messaging of the day but really do you reach a point where you should be just a little too old to be telling people you will BRB? I mean does it really take that much longer to type out the all the words? I guess if you are my father and you type like 3 words an hour then yes but for the average 30 year old that has grown up on a computer and can type insane amounts of words in second then really. Don’t get me wrong I can text with the best of them as long as the best of them aren’t 15, but sometimes even I feel silly trying to figure out what I am spelling with as little letters as possible. But this is the age that we live in. Even Word programs recognize text message shorthand as correct words, but add one too many o’s to a word and it starts going crazy.
It’s like the other night we were out at dinner and my aunt pulls out her cell phone and starts messaging someone. Now I am not going to say her age but trust me when I say that she is not even on the block of 30 yet here she was texting away. And the funniest part was it was like watching a 4 month old try to walk. For the amount of time that she used to scroll through and find the message and then find the letters and then figure out what she was saying she could have just called the person. I was LMAO.
AYK there is also the other in of the spectrum. The high school kids that can test with there phone in their pocket and be perfect. MAF I have never been that good. So I don’t know which is worse. However, one of my favorite commercials is the kids with the grandmother and the whole conversation that is just text messaging short hand. I think that is the funniest thing BC I think that is where we are headed. I use to have an employee and every time she left to run an errand she would say “BRB”. It’s like she couldn’t say the full phrase.
Anyway, I just wanted to share because that is what I do. So B4N
