Real Girl In The City

I will admit that I haven’t dated in awhile for varies reasons but as I was sitting around the other day watch a chick flick (I’m a woman and that’s what we do) I realized the thing that I miss about dating is kissing.  And not just any kissing but great kissing.  You know the kiss that makes your knees buckle and your heart pound; that is the kissing I mean.  Like in Superman 2 when Lois Lane couldn’t even remember what day it was.  That one great kiss.I know that I have kissed my fair share of guys and probably a few others’s fair share as well, but I still don’t think that I have had that one great kiss.  I know that I referenced Superman but I’m not talking about the fictional movie “great kiss” where the music swells and the lights dim and you know what is about to happen.  I am talking about that kiss where you can’t wait to touch, your body comes alive once you do, and you can’t seem to part.  That is the kiss I’m looking for.

And why is it so hard to find?  Maybe it is like most everything else in life; a numbers game.  Like Disney and fairy tales have been telling us for years.  You have to kiss a lot of frogs before one turns into a prince.  Who knew that all these years’ fairy tales had been preparing us for dating?  But if it is a numbers game then how many numbers can your heart take before you give up on ever finding the prince?  I know that some of my family and friends might not believe me but I have dated the frogs, the cows, the snakes, and I’m pretty sure there was a bull  and still no prince.  There have been some good guys in there to but not a one “great kiss” guy.

So what is a girl to do?  Keep kissing guys until you find it.  I hate to point out the obvious but those type of girls have a nickname and it is not to nice, or do you just give up and sit at home every weekend watching chick flick after chick flick hoping that Mr. Great Kiss will be the UPS guy bringing you food and Netflix?  I think it is a combination of both.   Maybe you don’t kiss as many guys as you did on your college spring break trip but maybe you get out a little more too.  Who knows the great kiss might be walking through the mall.  I always knew there was a reason I loved to shop.
