Real Girl In The City

Being with family will always bring you down to earth real quick.  Sometimes it will even bring you under the earth even faster.  So seeing that I have spent that last few days with my family it only seems fitting that some of my blogs be a little about that. 

It kind of started when I was showing some pictures to one of my cousins and he proceeded to tell me that I didn’t look like me because I was all dressed up and cute.  Then I was listening to music and doing a little chair dance just for me and my aunt told me that she didn’t think I ever moved that fast.  Yes these are the people that have known me since birth and do they even know me?  We always tend to think that our family as the ones that know us better then anyone but when it comes to certain things do they even know us at all?

I think it is because we act so different around the different people in our lives.  Like the way you are around your friends isn’t going to be the way you are around your co-workers and the same applies to your family.  I have always thought that when it comes to family we all play our own roles sort of like theater.  You have the loud one, the good girl, the screw up, the cook, the shy one, chatty Kathy, the opinionated one, and I could go on and on but you get the point.  But is the role you play with your family really the person that you are deep down?

I wouldn’t even begin to try to think of what my role would be in my family but I know it would probably be different then how I tend to see myself and I would guess that most people would agree.  I do know that I do play the role that I think I have to perfection, but maybe I have played it to well.  When your family is looking at a picture and can’t see you in it something might be wrong.
