I’m Not Just A Cheerleader

Published by stlblogger74 at 1:15 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Yes I was a cheerleader and a pom-pom girl and on the flag team.  Matter of fact I had more spirit during my school years then most people have their whole life.  I have been to  more little league football, basketball, and softball/baseball games then most professional sport players wives and most of my Friday nights through out my schooling career were spent cheering on one team or another and sometimes losing my voice in the process.  I am a cheerleader through and through, but why is it that everyone things that is all I am?

I know that I am a girlie girl and proud of it.  Don’t get me wrong, depending on the game I can get down with the fellas but mostly I like being on the sidelines.  However that doesn’t mean that I don’t understand what I’m watching.  So then I wish someone could explain why when I tell people that I like sports they act like I’m joking?  I know that I don’t quite look like the idea of a tomboy or the traditional sports fan but let me set the record straight right now.  Cute girls can not only like sports but can understand them too.

I also hate when I tell guys that I like sports they act like I am only saying it to get their attention.  Look I don’t need a guy to sit by me to watch any sports games.  Well, maybe baseball but that has to do with the fact that out of the sports it is my least favorite.  And when I tell you who my favorite players are it isn’t because I think their hot; at least not normally or I will specify.

Let’s face it some women like sports and not just to get a guy.  Don’t get me wrong if I ran into a guy that happened to like my favorite team that would be great but I am not going to change my favorites just for him.  So the next time a girl tells you that she likes sports take her seriously.  That is unless she says her favorite player is Kobe Jeter from the Miami Patriots.  See those are the girls I would like to put on the bottom of the tackle.
